The Island Market is the economic heart of your island. Residents will regularly appear there with various orders and requirements for you to fulfill. By delivering the requested resources, the residents reward you with Coins and sometimes even valuable items that help you expand your island.
With every successful trade, you not only earn Coins but also increase the level of your market stall. Higher levels unlock larger and more profitable orders, giving you access to new features that make trading easier, increase your earnings, and allow you to automate sales.
Additionally, as your level increases, you will meet new residents who bring further orders, rewards, and challenges.

Level 10: Storage and Merchant
At level 10, you unlock the storage and your merchant at the Island Market. The merchant can automatically supply residents with items from your storage—even when you are offline or your island is not loaded.
All sorts of different villagers can appear at your market stall. Each of them has their own preferences and accepts various items in exchange for Coins. You will encounter some villagers frequently, while others only show up rarely. Some traders must first be unlocked by reaching the required Island Market level.
There are several ways to make traders disappear. For instance, you could dig the ground out from under them or drown them in lava. However, killed traders will automatically reappear after a few minutes. Killing them only gets rid of them temporarily, so it doesn't really help you progress.

If you truly want to skip a trade, you can use Rubies within the trader's menu. Individual traders can be sent away in exchange for Rubies. This is useful if you are currently lacking the required resources or simply don't feel like completing the trade. The more traders you send away within an hour, the higher the Ruby cost will rise. If you wait the hour out, the costs will decrease again. You can send away a maximum of 5 traders within a 60-minute period.
Once the storage at your Island Market is unlocked, residents' orders can be processed automatically. For this to work, the required resources simply need to be available in your storage. You can fill the storage manually or use the associated chest to stock it automatically with pipes and hoppers. This allows you to funnel yields from farms or storage systems directly to the market stall.
While full automation is challenging, a well-thought-out system can take over a significant portion of the work, allowing you to focus on the more important orders. The larger your storage, the easier and more efficient it becomes to handle orders. You unlock new storage sizes by leveling up your market stall. To use the additional capacities, you must then unlock the expanded storage space with Coins.
Your market stall continues to work even when you are offline or your island is not loaded. This way, you can continuously earn Coins and complete orders in your absence, provided you have sufficient resources in stock.

To fill your Island Market's storage, various hopper mechanics are at your disposal. You can use hopper lines or connect remote hoppers to transport items directly from chests, farms, or other constructions into your market stall's storage. You can find a wide selection of these blocks at the Mechanic in the village, located to the right of the spawn area.

Note that while hopper lines can transfer items, they are not capable of independently extracting items from a container. For that, you still need a hopper beneath your container (Learn more about our hopper mechanics).
The Island Market is automatically located on your island from the start. Every player has one Island Market. It is not possible to obtain an additional one.
By actively trading at the Island Market, you increase its level. With every level, the available orders increase, and so does your profit. Try to process the traders as quickly as possible. Build small farms for the most essential resources to ensure you always have enough in stock.
If you are missing certain items, it can be worthwhile to buy them from other players. This allows you to complete orders faster and level up your Island Market more efficiently.
